About the Authors

Simon J. Littlewood is a Consultant Orthodontist and Specialty Lead at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bradford, UK, as well as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Leeds. He qualified as a specialist orthodontist in 1998 and is a seasoned clinician, examiner, writer, and educator. Renowned for his ability to convey high-quality research into practical orthodontic applications, Simon has been invited to present to orthodontic audiences in over 30 countries.

Laura Mitchell is a former Consultant Orthodontist at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Leeds University. She co-authored the popular Oxford Handbook of Clinical Dentistry, now in its sixth edition. Passionate about education and training, Laura has contributed to the development of numerous postgraduate examinations and played a significant role in advancing Orthodontic Therapists in the UK. In 2010, she was awarded an MBE for her services to healthcare and retired in 2018.
